How to Tap Away Anxiety with EFT

Do you struggle with anxious thoughts? What about stress in general? Based on the overwhelming number of responses I got to my most recent email on the topic, Why Your Anxiety Gets WORSE on Vacation, I'm guessing there's a good chance you might. Or if not you personally, you certainly know someone else who does. Because it's day 2 of Mental Health Awareness Week, I wanted to talk about this issue in particular a little more--and one of my favorite techniques for shifting it. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is my new favorite tool to use with clients. In fact, besides journaling, it's the one I now use the most. Why? Because it works. And quickly. Also known as tapping or psychological acupressure, EFT was derived from ancient Chinese medicine practices (including acupuncture/acupressure, qigong/tai chi, chanting, and the power of suggestion) to treat emotional problems, like anxiety. It combines affirmations (thought) with tapping on meridian points (movement) into one modality to use in my thought & movement coaching practice. Thoughts and emotions, especially habitual ones like anxious thinking patterns, can get stuck not just in our brains but also in our bodies. How? Because we are intricately connected beings. The body truly does keep the score of our emotions. By addressing both the physical/energetic body and the mental/emotional one, EFT is able to help people release and rewire undesirable thoughts--and their connected emotions--fast. And it's something you can easily practice at home.

For a 10-minute introduction to just how easy and effective it is to tap away anxious thoughts, check out this video here. Tapping isn't effective only for stress or anxiety. And it's also much more effective when a session is personalized just for you. I use it with my clients for everything from self-confidence to compulsive eating to waking up without hitting the snooze button. We start with whatever "problem" they have and then tap to the outcome they desire. And because it's Mental Health Awareness Week, I am offering anyone who replies to this email a FREE 30-minute, fully customized EFT session. Zero strings. Just hit reply and let me know you want to claim your free session, and we will schedule it for this next week. What do you want to release and rewire simply by tapping it away? Hit reply and let me know. With fierce love, Chazz Certified EFT Practitioner P.S. The deadline to register for my next group coaching program, which is all about releasing old versions of yourself and stepping into your most authentic self, is next Wednesday, May 17. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Week, I'm offering anyone who registers by this Sunday, May 14, an added bonus: two 30-minute sessions of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
