Gifts for Yourself that Cost $0

Last week while on a hike with a friend, she said to me, "My gift to myself this year is to not gain weight over the holidays. In fact, I'm going to go down a bit."

She said it in a way I knew she meant it. She said it in a way that came not from a place of judgement, criticism, or shame but, rather, from love.

As we continued along, she shared the changes she'd already implemented, things she was doing as well as ways of being she had gotten away from but was pulling herself back to. And I suggested some new things to try out.

After our hike, her statement left me thinking. Studies show that around 60% of people buy things for themselves during the holiday season. And while I am in FULL support of treating yo'self, I also struggle immensely with the rampant consumerism of the season (and our culture in general).

And, on a personal level, having just transitioned to full-time solopreneurship at the beginning of this year, my finances aren't in a place to be spending a ton of money on gifts for anyone, myself included.

So I started thinking of gifts someone (like myself) could give themselves that wouldn't cost anything. Here are some things I came up with:

  1. not gaining weight, like my friend

  2. getting a head start on your New Year's intentions

  3. a mindful pause at the start of your day (in the form of meditation, breathing, prayer, intention setting, writing out a to-do or to-be list for the day, or anything else that works for you)

  4. getting a full night's rest

  5. nourishing your body with healthy fuel

  6. permission to not buy gifts for anyone

  7. permission to ask others for what you want/need outright

  8. space & time to daydream about an exciting future

  9. permission to have the holiday dinner catered

  10. permission to cry, scream, laugh, dance, or otherwise express any emotions that may be coming up for you this time of year

  11. curiosity about your thoughts (Is it true New Year's resolutions never work? Is it helpful to think negatively about your mother-in-law?)

  12. the peace of mind that comes with knowing you haven't overstretched yourself (financially from buying more than you can afford; physically from eating 3 slices of pie instead of just 1; mentally/emotionally from saying yes to more commitments than you can handle)

  13. looking yourself dead in the eye in the mirror and saying, "I love you." (Trust me, I know this sounds cheesy and feels uncomfortable as hell at first, but it is life changing. That's why it's one of the exercises we do inside my Radical Reset program.)

Which gift are you planning to give yourself first? Feel free to give yourself all of them. After all, it's the holidays--and they cost nothing.

And because it's the holidays and I LOVE giving, I'm offering all of you your choice of one of the gifts below:

  • a 60-minute reiki session ($100 value; must be done in person in Estes Park)

  • What is it? A deeply relaxing energetic healing session to assist your physical & energetic bodies with stress/discomfort/pain

  • What sort of thing could you use it for? alleviate shoulder pain; help with insomnia; as a general way to decompress & reset

  • a 90-minute hypnosis session ($175 value; can be done remotely)

  • What is it? a uniquely curated guided meditation to access your subconscious mind & reprogram an undesirable habit or mindset

  • What sort of thing could you use it for? to stop eating that nightly bowl of ice cream before bed, to ignite a desire to exercise every morning, to quit smoking

How to receive your free gift:

  1. Email me at chazz@higherelevationscoaching.com.

  2. Tell me which gift you want & what you're thinking you want to use it for.

  3. Do the above before this Sunday, December 17, at 5 PM MST.

That's it. I can't wait to give away these goodies! My goal is at least a dozen by the end of the year--will you help me get there?

With Fierce Love,

Chazz

P.S.

What if you have it and WANT to spend money on yourself this holiday? At least make sure it's the kind of gift that will keep on giving. Rather than spending money, consider investing it instead.

Like in a 13-week journey of prioritizing self-care, setting BIG goals, establishing healthy boundaries, & radically upleveling your life, now and for the future.

Here's what previous participants have to say about their experience:

  • "I released 16 pounds and for the first time ever in this journey never gained an ounce back!"

  • "Life changing. This is such important work and one of the most important investments I've ever made!"

  • "It's impossible to put a monetary value on this because it's the kind of work that will continue to add value to my life, and effectively generational value."

Don't forget that if you sign up for Radical Reset before December 19 you get ANOTHER gift from me: a bonus 2-hour 1:1 coaching session where we will go through your 2023 closing ceremony together.
